Footprints of Monastic Disciples in Madhya Pradesh
Visit of Swami Vivekananda
Sometime in late June 1892, Swami Vivekananda visited Madhya Pradesh (earlier Central Province) from Pune (earlier Poona) as a mendicant monk. When he was in Khandwa, Swamiji first hinted at his willingness to attend the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago.

Visit of Other Monastic Disciples

Some of the monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, such as Swami Brahmananda, Swami Shivananda and Swami Trigunatitananda, graced Indore during their travels as it is a prominent historical, cultural and spiritual city in Central India, and the two Jyotirlingas of Ujjain and Omkareshwar are nearby and attract devotees from all over India.
