The activities of the Ramakrishna Mission, Indore follow the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna as expounded by Swami Vivekananda which is enshrined in its motto, Átmano mokshártham jagad hitáya cha, ‘For one’s own salvation and for the welfare of the world’. Since its humble beginning, the Indore Ashrama has now grown by leaps and bounds. It now runs a senior secondary school, a physiotherapy centre, various development programs for the children and youth belonging to the socio-economically weaker section of the society.
